Artificial Intelligence Research Agreement
In combination with leaders from industry, academia, the government, and research institutes, DSU’s SW Center University Project Team has signed an artificial intelligence (AI) research education-related business agreement with the Busan Metropolitan City Office of Education, with the purpose of fostering creative and convergent talents who will lead the era of the 4th industrial revolution. A ceremony to mark the signing of the busi- ness agreement was held on February 1 at the Busan City Office of Education. Many leading companies and institutions at the highest level of AI and content research participated, including the Hyeop Busan SW Center of Tongmyong and Pusan National Universities, Microsoft Korea, SquareNet, GoodAlLab, and Algorima.
Through the agreement, participating organizations decided to: cooperate with each other in fostering professional teachers and instructors for reinforcement; promote education for AI education contents services; hold educational events to improve understanding and awareness of AI technology; hold exchanges in areas such as joint research and information provision for educational content development; and to increase participating institutions’ and companies’ AI education capabilities.
Of particular note among these endeavors, from March this year the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education will be operating the B- MOOC cooperative educational system, which will offer high-quality educational contents for professional education in the field of AI to all schools in Busan. In particular, AI educational contents from basic to advanced courses will be incorporated through a curriculum that reinforces AI convergence professional education.
Project Team Director Moon Mi-kyung, who attended the business agreement ceremony, said, “Through this agreement, leaders in the fields of industry, academia, government, and research centers are spearheading our future society in the era of the 4th industrial revolution represented by AI and convergence. In fostering creative and convergent talents who will lead, we will endeavor to ensure that our Center will continue to play its pivotal role.”
